The Windrider Summit & The Sundance Film Festival Experience takes place in January every year. The Windrider Summit is a one-of-a-kind ­cultural experience. It is an opportunity to attend the premiere festival for independent films and interact with a community who shares a belief in the transformative power of story. It is also a chance to bring a distinctively spiritual and theological lens to film and explore some of the most important topics in our culture. Windrider provides a customized experience, curating the best of Sundance’s offerings along with exclusive benefits available only to Windrider Summit participants.

Our participants come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Our goal at Windrider is to enter into thoughtful conversations around faith and culture and we believe that these conversations are for everyone.

Yes! Summit Admission is available for purchase any time leading up to the event. Summit Admission includes exclusive access to all Windrider Summit programming Sunday-Friday. Take note, this does NOT include any Sundance film tickets.

Additional Single Film Tickets can be purchased on the Sundance website. As typical of the last couple of years, extra Sundance tickets may be available on a first-come first-served basis at the Summit.

When planning travel, we recommend flying into SLC Airport Sunday 1/26 before 5pm and flying out after 3pm Monday 1/27-Friday 1/31 (depending on the day you plan to leave). This will ensure you won't miss key Windrider programming.

You can expect very nice accommodations and personable hosts who would love to get to know you when there are moments to connect. Each host understands that you will have a busy schedule during your time at Sundance and therefore will most likely only see you in the morning and evening.

Hosts are not expected to provide transportation or food throughout your time at the Summit.

In addition to typical personal items and toiletries, be sure to pack warm clothing including a winter coat, hats, gloves, boots and thermal layers. The temperatures can be extremely cold and there is often snow and ice on the ground. We also recommend bringing a portable phone charger, as film tickets are managed digitally.

There is no official dress code for the Summit. However, we recommend Winter Weather attire (warm with layers). Sunday's Opening Night event is a nicer evening (men: collared shirt, sweater, ties not necessary; women: sweater, boots, nice jeans) Monday-Friday Summit Sessions are more casual, with a priority on staying warm! We recommend bringing a scarf, hat, gloves and sweaters, so you will be warm outside and comfortable inside.

Windrider will help in selecting the films you will be seeing. Depending on your ticket package, you will have an opportunity to provide your preferences and our team will do what they can to ensure you receive those tickets or you will select your own tickets with the help of the Windrider Watchlist. Tickets will be reserved throughout December and January. While at the Summit, the Windrider team will have additional tickets available for purchase each day.

Due to the quick pace of the Sundance Film Festival and Windrider's partnership and participation within that, our schedule must be adaptable to filmmaker availability and Sundance screening times. While we hope to have each minute of each day programmed far in advance, 20 years of the Summit has taught us to be present and trust that the Spirit will move in our space. Your patience and participation is greatly appreciated.

Yes! St. Mary's Catholic Church Park City (Sunday-Monday) and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Tuesday-Friday) will have parking available to Windrider participants throughout the week during all Windrider events. Windrider participants are welcome to park there as they attend Sundance film screenings around town, as both venues are near shuttle stops.

We request that you let Windrider coordinate communication between you and your Host. There are a multitude of moving parts to the Host Home process, so we appreciate you trusting us to find you ideal housing.
